In My Yard offers users a free Basic membership, with 3 listings per month. This is ideal for Tradespeople and Private individuals who have a small number of items to list. Paid Top Trader and Commercial memberships are also available and offer additional benefits, plus the ability to place a larger amount of listings each month. * Please note that Commercial listings cannot be added under a free Basic or Top Trader membership. These are designed for Tradespeople and Private Individuals only. We reserve the right to remove any listing that we believe does not fall in line with our Terms of Use *
Signing up to In My Yard couldn’t be easier. Simply click on the red Join For Free or Get Started For Free buttons on our home page, then follow the prompted registration process. Any personal information that you supply will be held securely in line with the UK Governments DPA & GDPR Legislation.
Anyone can benefit from using our platform. Whether you are a DIYer, tradesperson, commercial wholesaler or retailer, In My Yard has a membership option for you!
We offer 4 membership levels: Basic, Top Trader, Commercial, Commercial Plus. Create a free account to view all the features of our memberships in detail.
There are several options for purchasing items on In My Yard. Cash can be paid when meeting in person or Paypal payments can be made direct to the Seller securely online. Commercial Stores may also offer further direct online or Credit Card payment options. *Please note that In My Yard are not in control of or responsible for any transaction processing fees made by PayPal. All PayPal purchases are made directly between the Seller and the Buyer. The PayPal website provides information on their fee structure and can answer any queries that you might have* *Please make sure satisfactory terms have been agreed between the Seller and Buyer before making your payment. In My Yard keeps all of your personal data securely in line with the Governments DPA and GDPR legislation. Other members will not see any of your personal information and it will not be forwarded on to any third parties. *Members should not list personal details / information in their listings and they do so at their own risk*
As a basic (free) member, you will have to wait 24 hours to see new listings on In My Yard. Paid members can view all listings as soon as they are placed.
You can upgrade / downgrade your membership at any time, in the Manage Subscription section of the Profile Dashboard on our website. Further information is provided in our Terms of Use.
You can change (edit) your personal details in the Profile section of our website. *Changes to Commercial Store information can be made in the Manage Store section of your Profile Dashboard*.
Losing our members is always disappointing, so do contact us on our Contact Page to let us know if there is anything we can do to help or improve our service. Please note that you can cancel your paid membership and downgrade to a basic free membership in the Manage Subscription section of your Profile Dashboard at any time. If however, you wish to delete / terminate your membership, simply contact us on the Contact Us page and we will arrange this from your next renewal date. Anybody can have a Commercial membership. If for example, you are a private Tradesperson who has a large amount of leftover stock to sell, you may find the shop feature very useful.
In My Yard is a platform for listing trades, construction and DIY items only. Before attempting to list your item please make sure that it is suited to our site. If in any doubt, please see our Terms of Use. If you have searched the listed categories but are unable to find one suited to your item, simply message us on our Contact Us page to suggest a category and subject to suitability it will be added as soon as possible. *If you see a listing that is not suited to the website, please inform us. We reserve the right to remove any listing and / or member that does not comply with our terms of business. Thank you*
Please make sure that you have added all of the required information and photos before trying to post your listing. If, however you are still unable to complete your listing, please contact us via our Contact Us page and we will come back to you as soon as we can.
Any changes to a listing can be made in the Manage Listings section of your Profile Dashboard.
For Basic and Top Trader memberships, listings run for 30 days. You will then be sent a reminder asking you if you wish to renew your listing for another 30 days or if you have sold your item and would like to remove it from your listings. For Commercial and Commercial Plus members, listings are permanent unless removed by editing your listing via the My Listings section of your Profile Dashboard.
It is important to regularly update your listings. As a Basic or Top Trader member, you will be sent a reminder every 30 days, but if you have sold your item, do remove it from your listings to avoid additional enquiries. Commercial and Commercial Plus members have permanent listings unless they are removed. If you have sold out of a particular item, do remove it from the My Listings section of your Profile Dashboard to avoid further enquiries.
Buyers can contact you by email or live chat if you have a paid membership. If you have a Commercial membership they will also be able to contact you via Phone if your number is listed.
You can only add your business contact details (phone number, email address, website and postal address) to a listing if you are a paid Commercial or Commercial Plus member. This is both in written and / or image form. Further details are available in our Terms of Use. *If you see a Basic or Top Trader member trying to promote their business in a listing, please inform us. We reserve the right to remove any listing and / or member that does not comply with our terms of business. Thank you*
The boost function offers you the opportunity to promote your listing to the top of its category each day. This ensures high visibility of your important listings. You can add funds to boost listings in your Wallet on your Profile Dashboard.
For Top Trader & Commercial memberships you have the option to verify accounts via ID to add an extra peace of mind for Buyers.
The live chat feature offers Sellers and Buyers the opportunity to chat instantly via a live messenger service.
We recommend to our members to leave fair and detailed review feedback where possible. If, however you feel that you have received an unfair review, we recommend contacting the purchaser / seller to see if the situation can be resolved. If you are still unhappy please contact us with the details. *Any abusive feedback will not be tolerated, so please inform us via our Contact Us page as soon as possible*

If you renew a listing on In My Yard, it will count towards your total number of listings for the following month on our site. It is therefore important to pick a level of membership that will allow you to list enough items each month to meet your needs.
It is always important to look at pricing when listing an item on In My Yard. Make sure to do your research when pricing an item on our site. Be realistic but also aware that you can always drop your price after a period of time if you are struggling to make a sale. However, pricing isn't the only consideration. Factors like the quality of photos, number of photos, how detailed your description is and whether you offer delivery are also very important. In My Yard also gives you the opportunity to boost your listing each day to give you the maximum exposure by pushing your listing to the top of its category. Your annual membership payment will be taken automatically each year. We will contact you just before your renewal, giving you the opportunity to change to monthly, to upgrade or downgrade or to cancel your membership if you need to. Further details are available in our Terms of Use.
All users of the Website, whether companies or private individuals, must be located in the UK, as per our Terms of use. * Before entering into a transaction with a Buyer or Seller, please check that they are located in the UK *
You must sign up to a paid Commercial or Commercial Plus membership to add commercial listings on behalf of your own business or any business that you work for. In My Yard reserve the right to remove any listing that we believe does not fall in line with our Terms of Use.
No you do not have to sign up to a contract to use the Website. You can utilise our free Basic membership or pay for one of the PRO paid memberships monthly, with the option to cancel or downgrade at any time from your next monthly renewal date.
